Antique Prints are a precious and finite resource limited by the fragility of the technology that generated them and the reality of limited disposable income and the general education of past generations. The Gallery has selected a special collection of rare and delicate prints & maps worthy of preserving due to their educational value and decorative appeal.
The Giclee InkjetProcess has been chosen for our range of Conservation Limited Edition Prints due to their fade resistant quality which accurately records the more fragile organic character of these precious survivors of history.
The pigments last approximately 120-140 years before acceptable fading occurs and we have employed 100% Cotton Lignin free paper that mimics the texture and appeal of the original Flax and Hemp before the introduction of inherently unstable wood pulp paper circa 1880.
